Jewelry Weaving as a Mindful Practice with Karen Capobianco

Jewelry Weaving as a Mindful Practice with Karen Capobianco

Small moments of calm and focus can change you. A decrease-in stress and anxiety, increase in mental health and emotional regulation are all benefits of mindful practices, however not everyone is drawn to still meditation. For centuries men and women have worked with Fiber across all cultures. Fiber appeals to our sense and like mantra fiber art relies on repetition. In these classes we will make small items such as woven bookmarks, cording, jewelry and wall hangings using ancient and multi cultural types of looms and weaving. Each class will begin with a Mindful focus and intention. Having a product at the end of a session gives each person a sense of accomplishment and completion , as well as a new skill to work with going forward.
